Weather: Hot and humid
My very dear friends, Shirley, Selda, Sue, and Anne... all of us meet at a condo, called the Sands, on Hilton Head Island, on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Sue and Anne drove in from NC. The Texas girlfriends flew SW from Love Field into Charleston, SC. Rented a car and began our journey toward Hilton Head Island. We stopped along the way and visited the Angle Tree. www.angeloaktree.com This is a lovely 500 year old Oak Tree. After our visit, we proceeded into Hilton Head Island. This was the Texas girlfriends’ first trip to Hilton Head Island. The weather is hot and humid. Sue and Anne got to the condo before us. There were a few “hiccups" dealing with the condo. However, maintenance from the Sands Condo took care of it. Walked down to the beach, which is a 5 minute walk. Wonderful sun setting. Important note: local alligators are very much present. There are signs posted. We have a pond near our walk way into the condo. Make lots of noise so as to scare ‘em gators!

Weather: Hot and humid
Up and out the door by 11 AM for a car trip. The landscape is gorgeous. Surrounded by salt water marshes, canals; area islands are connected by bridges. The colors of the marshes are between a golden harvest and mixed with light green. You just have to see it. Sue and Anne have been here before. They are our tour guides. We are driving out to Hunting Island to have lunch. The place is a local hot spot: Johnson Creek Tavern, Hunting Island, SC. The food is fantastic. The shrimp / fish are fresh and local. The tavern walls are lined with $1.00 bills stapled to the walls. After a period of time, the dollar bills are taken down and donated to The Military Honor Flight Organization. All of us added a dollar bill with our names on it. I will add that this tavern has been visited by many famous people. One of them is Tom Hanks (played Forrest Gump), and Gary Sinise (played Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump). Several scenes of the movie were filmed around the islands and they have many pictures from when they were filming the movie. After a long and lazy lunch we drove out to the place where the scene of Forrest running down a dirt road, lined with aged old oak trees with hanging Spanish Moss was filmed. If you have seen the movie, you know what I am talking about. It is beautiful. I persuaded Selda to walk on down the lane and come up running just like Forrest Gump did in the movie. I got this on video as I was being eaten up with mosquitoes. We continued on with our journey to a wild life park...which there are many in the area. Visited a wonderful light house built in the 1800's. One thing to note, when you visit, you must have on inset repellant. The insects rule here! Mother nature is very beautiful here… but can be obnoxious too.

Weather: Hot and humid
We are out the door by 10 AM heading out for Savannah, Georgia. It is less than an hour drive from Hilton Head Island. We drove to the Visitor Center and purchased our trolley tour tickets. The tour is about 90 minutes. It is narrated. Our driver is called Radar. She is a native Texan. However because of her being in the military, Savannah has been her home for the past 20 years. There is so much to do and see in Savannah. The historic district is awesome. Preservation is very active here. After the tour, we continued on to a famous local hot spot to have lunch. Mrs. Wilkes in Savannah. www.mrswilkes.com. This is must for all to eat here. It is family style served with 10 people to a table. One most important note: CASH ONLY! After lunch, we visited another wild life park and drove down a dirt road for about 4 miles. We did this very slowly looking for alligators in the marshes and ditches. We wanted to see the alligators in their natural habitat. Nearly running out of road and the sun is dropping in the West, Sue, spotted one on the left hand side. Also, this is about the time a coastal shower was happening...what a life time experience. Again, just had to be there to experience it. All of us were taking pictures. We are so exhausted trying to find alligators, we are puch happy! This evening after supper, Sue and Selda taught me how to play Yahtzee. human hair wigs

Weather: Hot and humid...weather coming in; tropical storm Julia
It has rained the night before. Weather is coming in and Sue and Anne are taking off for home. Do not want to get caught in the weather. Shirley decided to do a boating trip to see wild life and dolphins at 1PM. Selda and I just hung out at the condo. The weather came in about 2PM raining hard. Then it cleared up about an hour later. We left the condo to walk across the street to a plaza that has over 60 stores &restaurants...later on in the afternoon rain continued to dominate the evening. We ended up in a small sandwich shop for supper in the Plaza. It was all home made. I enjoy walking to and from the condo. The location is great and you do not have to drive a car if you do not want to.

Weather: Tropical Storm Julia is active within the area
As the morning progresses on, rain is on and off...we decided to go see the movie Sully. A wonderful movie. The rain is pouring down and winds are up. We had lunch at a local hot spot: One Hot Mama. Food is fantastic. Shirley had dirty rice and gravy and Baby Back Rib Tips…said it was the best. We went on home after lunch and chilled. Weather will keep us in. Watched the final of America's got Talent.

Weather: Clear this morning... humid and not as hot.
Slept in...had breakfast at the condo. Now we are on our way to Charleston... it is about a 2 hour drive. We are taking our time, enjoying the scenery. We arrive at the Visitor Center, and purchase our tickets for a Gray Line tour. It is 2:30PM in the afternoon. The tour is 90 minutes. Again, there is so much to see and do. The historic part of Charleston is wonderful. They do a great job of preservation. It is warm on the bus…these are the small ones. The AC not working well. And, as we were driving down one of the very narrow streets, a horse drawn carriage filled with people comes down besides the bus...and scrapes the side of the bus. The driver does not stop. Amazing. No one is hurt...just the side of the bus is scratched. I would not want to drive in Charleston. There are several college campuses located there. The homes are to die for. Again just have to go and see it for yourself. After the tour is over, we are ready for supper. It is suggested for us to eat at Virginia's on King Street. It is about 2 minutes from the Visitor Center. And that is what we did. All of us agreed, we would go back, just to eat there. We finally had our Shrimp and Grits. The best. The service is wonderful. Our waiter, Mr. Sam made our experience memorable. It is now around 7PM and we are heading back home to Hilton Head Island.

Weather: Clear and sun is out, getting hotter and humid.
Slept in this morning. Selda and I got in the pool to work out. After 30 minutes or so, Selda, Shirley and I went for a walk down to the beach. A nice breeze is blowing. Have not been down to the beach during the day time. So, we are taking this opportunity before it rains again. Walking the beach looking for sea shells. The water is warm. The waves are active on the beach. When we do decide to come in, it is almost 1 PM. This is so nice to just relax and enjoy our blessings. Shirley cooked breakfast. Took out all of the left overs out of the refrigerator. Cut up fruit we had purchased the day before. Awesome. After breakfast, have completed washing our clothes. And now, I am blogging about our trip. Today, we are just chilling out. On Saturday, September 17, 2016 we will be on the road by 9:30 AM, driving to Charleston to fly home.

Thank you Ron for taking care of my home; Emmy and Ella for baby sitting Sophie J. Barbra and Harry for the condo. And all of our friends who are praying for our safe travels. hair extensions uk

I really love human hair has combs and adjustable straps. The cut and color on this brazilian hair is fantastic. Almost wish I got wavy because dark human hair extensions personally looks better wavy on me.
